Ames Kent would always recommend you have a survey done when buying a property, although we cannot recommend a surveyor the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) regulate surveyors. It is independent of the Government and has a complaints process in relation to its members. They have a useful search facility which enables you to search for surveyors who are members of RICS in the local area;
